You want the tax payers to pay for your cdl training in which you probably won't use, because most will laugh you out of the office when you tell them you will be unavailable on certain days of the week. Save yourself some time, and the tax payers some cash by applying for something you have a better chance at being off on Saturday's. Most of those grants wants prehires and you probably won't get them from a local company and not sure how set you are to going otr for months at a time. In which you may have to work a Saturday. Until you can get experience to be picky about which days of the week you work.

Maybe some starter company offer regional? Try pop company 7up/coke/pepsi, that's what I did before and got 3 days off

Thanks guys. McElroy Texas recruiter told me all their guys have Saturdays off as well.

TONS of companies will get you weekends off. Typically you want to be regional for that. I know people that drive regional and get home 2 or 3 nights during the week too. Look into flatbed or tanker, those companies seem to treat their workers a lot better, and a lot even train. Just avoid the big name companies, they'll typically put you on the road for 3-4 weeks at a time.

Fastenal does not drive on Saturday's. Try them.
