So my wife and I are team drivers, we are fresh to the industry. However, upon talking to older drivers, I learned that we are being shafted. Only making 0.18 cpm. I understand that is below low of what most companies would pay even for beginners. Now, the company and I are in a dispute as they are now trying to tell me that my wife and I can't be together... Clearly this is an issue. I am seeking advice from you older drivers as to what companies are worth going to.
Looking for a good company

Well now, you have come to the right place. .18 per mile would be way below the going rate. You should be splitting closer to 40 cpm or more. Husband and wife teams are the Gold Standard in the industry.
First thing you have to do is tell us what company and where you two live. Then we will be right with you. -

Hard to recommend since we don't know your city/state.blairandgretchen Thanks this. -
Even if you're not qualified, apply anyway. Many new drivers find some gravy jobs by ignoring the qualifications and submitting an application anyway. Companies that have online applications; submit one, you may get a nice surprise phone call.

Tell the group here where you live to better assist you in suggesting a different carrier.
Are you each making 18 CPM for all miles driven together or 18 CPM split between you (I hope not) for all miles driven together? Example: If your truck did 5000 miles in a week, are you each getting $900 or are you each only getting half of the $900 for a total of $450 each. Regardless, you will be much better elsewhere for many reasons. As Wooly said, a husband and wife team is the gold standard and certainly the most desired team a carrier looks for. -
I'm sure it's the first. That would mean basically they are getting 36 cent for the miles each of them drive. That's about average. you'll be hard pressed to do better with under a year of driving experience. Best to stay were you are for at least a year. Question is, why are they trying to spilt you up. Do they not have team loads? IF they are wanting to team with someone else I don't I would go for that. But then with you lack of experience maybe they want at least one experienced person on the truck. PS, I would take Tyson off the list.

60 cents per mile split at Barr Nunn Trasportation with a huge sign on Bonus.
blairandgretchen Thanks this. -
I looked up Barr Nunn. Site said 55 cents. Still not bad. But it also said they would need a year of experince. Looking at their profile it doesn't look like they have a year yet.
