I was reading a couple posts on trucking truth where drivers posted their first year pay detailing each week the amount.

More than a few weeks these drivers reported earning less than 200.00. And a few more weeks even less than 100.00.

There is no way I can be out there and earn less than. 200.00 for an entire week.

Do you experienced drivers think these drivers were slacking or is this pretty common?

Also note these low pay records were after their training was completed.

Depends on the company. Maybe they don't trust the newb to run like the pros and give them really short haul runs. Now it becomes the game of favoritism

The drivers that make those low paychecks are the ones that don't have all the endorsements, TWIC and a passport. All these qualifications put money in your paycheck. Many new drivers jump on the first job offer and don't spend any time doing research on other companies.

Get all the qualifications I listed and put them to work for you.

What I am thinking is a better choice is to pay for cdl school rather than going to company sponsored training. Seems like a no Brainer - get reimbursed for school or get lower wages and pay back school.

These are some of the people posting here on the site

"WAAA I DID NOTHING WRONG, IM OLD AND SHOULD BE RESPECTED AND GIVEN EVERYTHING ON A SILVER PLATTER"

SO what I'm trying to say is .don't blindly believe everything you read ,trucking is generally full of people who have failed at life and had no other options and as such don't have any work ethic or social skills.

If you can attend private or community college CDL school, that's the best route. In fact, you can start submitting job applications the first day of CDL school. Submit several, then sift through the job offers so you will start work the day you graduate.

One exception to this is Millis Transfer. You can attend their CDL school and start right out making good money. Most of their new drivers make about $50K.

I've applied to Millis twice with a 6 month gap between applications. Not sure why but they don't call me back. I'm accomplished and I have a college degree. Also have tons of common sense.
