Might be a few extra loads up that way. From Truckinginfo.com:
"A refrigerated intermodal container service between the Pacific Northwest and the Midwest has ended due to service from partner BNSF Railway that allegedly was not so hot.The announcement by Cold Train follows a number of scheduling issues on BNSF Railways northern corridor line that have been occurring with BNSF beginning late last fall because of increased rail congestion as result of a surge of oil and coal shipments."

Having worked for CP for 17 years, I can tell you that you will see a lot more of this. They are all catering to the crude oil accounts and they even treat them like ####. I also like there manpower shortage excuse. Thats to be expected when you have a large number of guys out of service at any given time due to there new nazi hitler extreme disciplinary policies.
-
Funny to think that they are having a surge in coal movement when they are closing down 2 coal plants in AL that produce electricity.
-
BNSF is having major power issues. I should take pics of some of the stuff I see in the yard across from the office, we're talking stuff that was put the graveyard 10 years ago that they've pulled out for use.

That's out uncle jacking around with the emission policies and the board room getting even by taking capacity off line. luminant shut in two lignite units here and laid off 400 yet operates a lignite mine down the street. NRG just announced a major expansion of the big units south of Houston but with a twist, they have partnered with the japs to collect the CO2 emissions and pipeline them to the oil field 82 miles away .
Over on your side Southern just announced they are building a monster lignite plant in Meridian MS. Its a game..... -
All of that coal is head to china. A pipeline can only sell to a few customers while a train can sell to the highest bidder.....
Big Duker and rockyroad74 Thank this. -
Yep, we are being "good global citizens" by shutting down our dirty coal burning plants. Meanwhile, China opens 10 coal burning plants for every one we shutdown here. Guess which direction that dirty Chinese air flows? Straight to California! Would be funny if it weren't so sad.

And our prices per kw keep going up as we keep shutting them down. Suicide by O Sambo.
rockyroad74 Thanks this. -
Low natural gas prices are whats hurting our coal plants here in the US. Nothing to do with greenies.

Pipelines dont run to ports where they transload onto ships or trains and send it to the highest bidder?
