    895mi (15/70) versus 1054mi(40/25)

    approx

    159 mi difference

    (Chains are insane)

Maybe the other Poly drivers will have some ideas

I would run I15 to I80 across WY and then US287 to CO14 to I25 to Loveland, only 60-70 miles longer and likely quicker a lot of the time during winter. I really, really hate I70 across Colorado.

Set another new personal best for 7 days thanks to the screw up of some other folks. Had to salvage two loads which helped me to maximize my miles. 4301 miles in the books:) Resetting and then on to NC to take care of some house business and then hoping to bust ### until Halloween back in Vegas with my daughter.

as majestyk said, i15 to i80 across wy, drop down 287 in laramie, to fort collins, only 65 miles farther than i70 across colorado, and will actually take less time to travel... if you go to cheyenne wy, and down i25 to longmont, it is 90 miles farther.

Don't think we have lumber fee at any walmart?

15 to 80 sounds much better..... as long as I am not to low on fuel I do use that 287/14.

The only problem I'm having with it is the 'thanks' page doesn't always take you to the post you were thanked for when you click on it.

I'm back. I though I would take a self imposed 'time out'. My posts were getting way out of hand on the negative side. I ended up finally getting out of Albany and delivered to H-E-Butt(holes) in Houston. Although they are better than San Antonio, places like that make me glad I work here because we don't see that many grocery warehouses. After I delivered they sent me to Pol-Tex for a GP load. As I approached the last turn on 146 headed to our plant, the road was shut down because they were moving in some huge oversize loads and had to drop the power lines. The cop gave me the alternate route but told me to haul ### because they were going to be there shortly and it would be hours before everything was out of the way and opened back up. Got to Pol-Tex, got my load and spent the night. Because it was late when I got done with HEB and got to shut down, it was going to be a push to get to GP before the shop closed so I could get my regular truck released (more about that in a minute). I ended up making it with about 30 minutes to spare, swapped back to my regular truck and to my surprise, my Monday load was ready Sunday afternoon, so I got it and ran. I went back to Lakeland because my replacement Note 3 had been delivered the day after I left and I wanted it back. I pushed thru some of the worst rain I've seen in a while, just missed the possible tornado in Monroe, LA and delivered Wednesday in Lakeland. It was 2 hours after I sent in my "empty and leaving" message before I got a call from backhaul...back to Albany for another HEB-Houston load. This time the trailer was taped and ready, and it got loaded the 1st try. So off to Houston I go for a Friday 4 pm delivery.

Now, when I picked up my truck...they fixed the no-idle heater, serviced it, d.o.t. inspected it...and nothing left loose. But....I had written up the slider pins on the 5th wheel (the solenoid under the cab leaks and they won't release)...the shop checked the king pin release...hooked to several trailers and it released just fine...guess there was a mis-communication there somewhere. And, the sticking throttle that keeps the jake from working got the 'unable to replicate' treatment...really? Did they drive it? It does it ALL the time I'm behind the wheel. But to our shop's defense, it was the dealer that was unable to replicate, not our shop. But, this trip out of the shop, this thing pulls like it was designed to and everything else seems to be functioning right...nothing new was broken while it was in there.

If it's an Outbound load, usually no fee...if it's a backhaul, it's anybody's guess as to the charges
