I'm paid percentage on my regional runs, most average out to $28.00/hr or more if detention is added

Lol Bedford park isn't even bad, that's one of the more forgiving yards when it comes to backing. Now parking in j row at cn during a lift with chasis's along the rail, that's a real pain! They have trucks with cameras that drive around and spot boxes, you can park in any row you want at most of the yards.

Out of all the rails I been to, cn is the worst. I actually have to do a 10 before I enter the gate just to make sure I have enough time to get in and out. I been to lot J winbot, and one day I found a space with a open gap right in front of it! But no, here comes a yard jockey and thought this would be a good spot to take a break... Sat there while watching me back up right in front of him.

hahahah yeah CN seems like a good place to get a disease or get stabbed or something. Were running for the same company by the looks of it bud! Backing is even more fun on these automatics that seem to like to randomly gun it for no reason even though your foot hasn't moved one bit. I've actually had to have a spotter pull a box into a lane for me at cn because I couldnt even make the turn to get it out hahahaha.

There's no doubt rail yards are quite a challenge in the "intermodal game". I've just been activated after training. I had to do a dispatch with our Driver Safety guy who observed my driving, parking/backing, coupling and uncoupling, as well as pre-trip/post trip. I accept the challenge of intermodal...it's just that...A CHALLENGE!!!

When it comes to parking containers it get's tough because you have *those* who are in such a hurry they don't consider the next trucker that has to park. They're in such a hurry they don't take the time to at least park *decent* where they don't leave a problem for the next trucker. There aren't many of them for the most part...but once they screw up parking...leaving their container parked "####eyed"...they can create difficulty.

i just hated the rails. prob hated my company more. i just cant believe the trouble their was. my last day it took me 2 hours to hook up my glad hands. felt like such an idiot. finally some old guy pulling doubles helped me and man he even struggled. i dot get why everything is hell with the rails. stuff broken, the pig tail light coming out like 50 times when driving. man i dont miss it. but if i go o/o id go back to rails. so i dont know how imma relive it. oh and i never learned how to do a lift. 1 month of pure hell. unless i can find dedicated runs or linehaul which gets you home daily or every other day then id never see the rails again.
