I've been out of trucking since 2008 and am now looking to get back into it. What's a good company in the southeast to get back into the swing of things? I prefer something that'll get me home every 5 - 10 days.

Where are you from in the SE? I know cargo transporters from NC is a great place to start out. If you live near NC they can get you home every weekend. Epes is a good choice too, they also offer weekly home time.

I was in that spot a few years back and this is what I found. The good places to work at want 2 to 3 yrs. recent seat time. This may limit you, it did me. be patient, but keep a open mind you may have to do the 1 year, home once a month program, but keep looking.

Find a small fleet and hang in there until you have enough recent driving experience to move on to the job you want.
Most decent outfits want at least 2 yrs recent exp,and a stable work history.dlewis75 Thanks this. -
