a year ago when I was doing Orientation in Houston they had "hiring Flatbed drivers" signs, so I guess they were going to start a Flatbed division?
but I haven't seen any Flatbeds, did they just give up? did they not view it as cost-effective? no interest?
or does it exist, but as a regional thing? (not been in/near Houston since December)

The only SNI flatbeds I have seen these days have been on a dedicated account hauling rebar I think. I want to say they sold their flatbed division off to someone, I think it was Maverick?
Chinatown Thanks this. -
I heard that a few years ago as well, so that's why I was scratching my head when I read thatChinatown Thanks this.

Schneider had an ad recently for flatbed drivers in either DesMoines or St. Paul; don't remember which city.
Maverick bought Schneider's glass division. Think back and you will probably remember seeing orange Schneider tractors for sale at Maverick's headquarters right by the interstate.dieselfuelonly Thanks this. -
I saw the ad in Houston, but we're just arguing semantics at this point
is a regional/dedicated thing? -
We had a dedicated gig based out of the twin cities area for about 3 days - the time it took for the wonderfully competent office folks to screw things up.
We do have some flatbed work thru HD store delivery, and might have other dedicated gigs but I don't think SNI will go back into flatness hard. -
There are a few flatbeds running from Seguin Tx to dallas, Houston, and san Antonio. They also have scrap trailer(s) hauling scrap to the Sequin plant.

Here is another thread started a few weeks ago about SNI Flatbed http://www.thetruckersreport.com/tr...schneider-going-flatbed-offering-drivers.html

Sold the flatbed and their drivers to maverick. The drivers didn't have a choice. After that deal schneider couldn't open a new flatbed account for x amount of years. Only flatbed I ever saw was home depot. They teach how to secure, chain, etc in greenbay.

Dfo is correct only flatbed Schneider has is the rebar from Charlotte and texas area.
