I went from flat to reefer. Pulled a flat at LS for 6 years, then hot shots for 2. But I started out with reefers, so wasn't hard to go back. Anyway good luck with what you do!

    If you're tired enough you'll sleep anywhere/anytime...

I had to deliver irrigation pipe to a farm last year. I never drive 11 hours in a day but this time I did. I was way over tired. I asked the farmer if I could stay over night. I stayed right where he unloaded me out in the middle of the farm field. I normally sleep for 7 hours at the most. I ended up sleeping for 11 hours. It took at least 1/2 an hour for me to remember where I was when I woke up.

That sounds like an old school statement like "I don't need air conditioning, power steering, or a log book"...
Getting so tired that you just "sleep anywhere/anytime" means you were working (driving) while so tired that you could fall asleep in the driveway of a truckstop while sitting in your seat still holding the steering wheel (we've all seen that guy). If you're that tired, couldn't you fall asleep at 70 MPH on the interstate while driving?

I've never had an issue falling asleep with a unit running. I think it helped me sleep better because it drown out some of the stop and go noises that will happen around you.
