    Hey RESE, welcome aboard.

Intermodal has its own special challenges, for sure. TWIC and individual port clearances, frame shortages, shorter trip lengths... eh, it isn't for everyone. But...

You gotta think: you've got a job in the industry now. You don't want to job hop too soon. That can hurt your chances at getting something better down the line. So stick it out for a year or so. You never know, you might be one of the guys that loves it. Even if you don't promise yourself you're going to be the best dang intermodal driver out there and do everything you can to make that a reality.

If a year goes by and you're not happy, at least you'll have a solid work history to show the new company you'd like to work for. You'll never be sorry for being the best you can. As drivers reputation is often all we have. Take care of yours at every single job you work as a driver and it will pay you back in spades.

Good luck, little brother, and welcome to the fold.

Thank you I truly appreciate it, sometimes it can be discouraging like I'm responsible for all errors even though the DHL has poor communication

You'll get used to the stupid. Lol. Thing to keep in mind is every place has its own special brand of stupid. Took hubby and I almost 8 years to find a place where we are treated with respect and truly feel appreciated. Those places are out there. But openings are few and far between.

A great DAC and CSA will work wonders when you're trying to get your foot in the door of a good place. So you understand where the advice I gave is coming from.

The Serenity prayer is my favorite. I recite it frequently until the urge to throttle stupid passes. :) Patience is an important virtue out here. So let them play the games - you just keep your nose clean and keep the wheels turnin'. You got this.

Hey Rese, I live in Chicago and considering the intermodal division with Schneider. What is training like? Do you have to go otr or regional while training? Thanks.
