I've been told in the past that if my MPG and idle time were low enough I could have the shop turn it up to 68 or 70 or whatever. Never gonna happen since staying warm when I think it's cold outside or staying cool when I think it's hot outside is a lot more important to me.

 

I enjoyed working for IRT as far as fueling running,dispatching,..but the lack of detention pay was the killer! I made 15k more working for Lone star milk at .06 less a mile.

 

If they can't offer $10 an hour $80 a day max after the first two hours then that's cheap as hell. Every body's got their price that's one reason I said, NOPE. After she called 6 days in a row she hasn't called me back.

 

Yea its tough to sit in places like Dothan AL.for 24-48 hrs with absolutely no pay. Clovis,McAllen,Lafayette,New Orleans,Nashville,Uniontown AL, juice place in Winter Haven etc etc

The he company I work at now does it and I don't even have to ask for it they go by my logs and my empty/loaded call I'm assuming. Works out great for me especially when sitting for 10 hours or more getting loaded or unloaded. Got like 140 in one week once it's nice making $900 a week average your first year out here!

 

when at a shipper/reciever you're on line 2, so why should they pay detention, nobody has ever done work on line 2

also you're paid to drive,not sit at a dock. the company doesn't make money sitting at a dock.

at first when I started at IRT I wished I was paid something since I had to hook up the hoses and unload the trailer, but I don't care anymore

i'm not being a hypocrite because I actually was doing the work, unlike most customers who do all the work

Time is MONEY!! God what's wrong with you?!?! If IRT ever starts plastering some goofy looking a hole on the back of there tanks for advertising like Dart we will all know what you look like!
