Crete is starting drivers out at $0.45 a mile. If you go to the reefer side it's $0.48. Guaranteed detention after 2 hours. A friend of mine is on the reefer side and never sits anywhere. I'm jumping ship after I've been here a year. To hell with cheapskates and the bottom feeding losers who defend them.

Every time I start thinking that maybe we have some dumb drivers at our place I read another Jabber thread. Jabber makes me appreciate our drivers.

I had a JABBER work for me a few years ago , constant HEADACHE , he worried about everything , started more BS when sort of repeating what he overheard in the office and always questioning everything.

#####ed about not getting paid on time to anyone who would listen but forgot to mention he never called in his miles on the company provided cell phone in time to make the payroll deadline , how he had to pay tolls even though he had a toll card but did not want to use it , anyone in the office go on a trip or buy a new car it was with $ stolen from the drivers,

the Shipper/Consignee are the ones who actually pay the bill for detention, why should any company take money out of their pockets to pay their not-moving drivers?

if IRT starts putting my face on their tanks they can forget about ever staying in business, if i'm the one who they use to sell their company then that shows a lot about them

No your wrong about that. Lone Star Milk pays its detention out of pocket to keep and retain drivers. When they hired me from IRT I had to wait 6 weeks for a truck to come open. One never did and they issued me a brand new one that they added.

Well, for starters, the company isn't the one who has to sit and wait to load or unload. The time we spend sitting anywhere takes money out of our pockets, therefore the driver should be compensated. Even if only on the basis of lost wages as a result of lost productivity due to being detained through no fault of our own.
