I miss the old truckin' radio shows; Bill Mack of WBAP Dallas/Ft. Worth and Charlie Douglas of WWL New Orleans, talking about "Mass 10 Truck Stop" and Melton Truck Lines referred to as "Melton Truck Lines, home of the Running Rabbit." Back then Melton pulled dry vans and flatbeds and had a big jack rabbit on the tractors and dry vans. Wow, great years!

Yep, Mike Starnes. I remember when it was big news he was going to start running West Coast runs.Never did finish that big modern terminal in Memphis did he, after Swift bought them out?

 

I was there 89-90. Well before the Swift buyout. I think he finished it, Swift still uses it today I think.

 

1 of my daughter in laws knew nothing about trucking when she first started dating my son , She was sitting on the patio 1 day listening to us recap our week of went here got LOADED , went here delivered then got LOADED over here , she went inside and asked my wife why do truckers drink so much and brag about getting LOADED all the time
