The stroies I heard where NOTHING like the realities of this industry.
I came into it 4-5 years ago now, actually not even actually knowing what an exhaust brake was. Nothing. I went in with the understanding that any and all $$ here at home and keeping no less than $10, 000 cash or gold on me at all times.
Maybe with guys with those bright #####$$ lights on their trucks. HID, XEION, incandescent, diodes oor live animal tissue. They can ALL remove and reinstall whatever they want.
Except that is for their "greenhouse" tax. OK, for any dummies let me try and help. If the feds are posted up nearby, bored, we will be taxed HEAVILY since COAL IS NOW ALL BUT ILLEGAL. What are they actually taxing ahhhh wellll aaaatotitsststs CO2, YES, Bingo night man I'm all over it! Threw out as many non-decisive, gutless, hind teat sucking hogs! My parents NEVER once ever told me who he was voting for.
Our single most important thing to focus on for me this year is to maintain happier than last year. Of couse, plenty of junk near me you'd charge me double on this next year. Since, I was born life was played out for me! College, then Banker or Dr. I wasn't left with much choice and ended up with 120 NEED college HOURS will I had 194 total. I said, "well hell, I should have just got two!" He said give me a second. Then started rattling off #'s I found out then if I went back and took Physics (heat and mech.) And one MORE tuff chemistry class I'd be a Biology, Environmental Geology plus of safety net Communications!
I'm so glad we are AT LEAST getting to have front row seats to Americas' GoodBye.
Take it for what you want but this isn't an individual attack. Its so easily proven that for years the Most intolerance is ALWAYS presented from the far left. By God if you don't obey them they will gladly enslave anyone entirely one single commodity. (Oil/Venzuela)
If think differently they want more programs, they will use ILLEGALLY (constitutionally) created EPA to crush you. We are getting sick of hearidng it Afroabat but "GIT ER DONE"
I worried for a while but I can feel the transcendence, they actually woke up!!! Even you liberals even devoure each other, quickly. Even week its something OTHER THAN:
Yes, we put him in office, sorry. Sadly, they will again one day be needing our awareness and ability to "see the field" I accomplished what I did in life FROM MY PROUD FAMILY AND MY HARD WORK.
Down here it would be acceptable to
#1 harshly let em know they are perturbing you
#2 whooping on his booty (county by county)
#3 anything BUT call for back up, because then sights are zeroed on me!!

bubbagumpshrimp, Dinomite, Hammer166 and 8 others Thank this. -
Good grief, where did that rant come from!?
In regards to the accident, I'd just like to say that it's a sad, unfortunate event that we see far too often. As far as drivers losing their jobs, we may never know.Marksteven, FLATBED, OPUS 7 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Can I getta witness!!! Amen brother....Amen!! That's what I'm talkin bout!!Dinomite Thanks this.

Post of the year nominee. I like your style!! Beer 30 in margaritaville.browndawg Thanks this.

All apologies fellas. That was blended with private thoughts and (head scratch) something I was studying that night. Research drives me nutty. Roll on with the big trucks! Amazing, the specialization and uniqueness of a plethora of different type jobs doing the same thing.
That's a huge power,
En masse!
I have enjoyed 95% of my time behind the wheel.
Time for a Cat Nap!Dinomite Thanks this. -
I will officially say it...WTF!!!!!!
-
It was actually much more shocking/nuts looking to the other accident of the day! It took a while but after reviewing note of the surrounding time I had several outlines/papers bullets/topics articulated differently. Our
Devine recovery (not bad for me) has me moonlighting touchin' up some forgotten skills acquired in my youth. I enjoy writing. I enjoy driving and thinking now hit Repeat button. When you're rolling it's quite easy to drift into a ZenState prolducing more creativity, for me!
Will I sit here and say: 100% NoRmAl Not OfF iN aNy WAY. This would be impossibility. I'm a truck driver. Technically speaking a smaller truck, waaay over powered, spec'ed then built for work! I still eat see the old frac guys I worked with 1-2 a week.
That job was what woke me up and made me pay attention to how much a truck really can produce and what was I really doing with all of the equipment I had.
Hauling Frac sand I was paid insanely about dry van/reefer rates. Maybe O/O's with more experience should comment on this.
I'd never sat in a big truck when I bought mine! by the next weekend I had passed my CDL test and was headed to the east coast to pick up a double deck car hauler. Loved hauling cars but that sand kept me close and I still made more every month than my wife did every year with 23 years of teaching experience at the same school. So with less experience than almost anyone I talked too I was happily crushing that Pete loaded down with some sand now. Of course, the first day instead of 47.5 they loaded me with 60 or something (called checking my brakes for me?) Did this a while then used that networking to slide some fingers into the hotshot side.
So ya I'm off fellas! I'm a happily married, daddy off 3 boys a 6 year old and 4 year old twins. My home, land, pool, ATVs in part paid for from yalls help. Sure it was often times mixed with a healthy dose of madness. I cheated, according to some by not having to endure being raped by a Big trucking company with their predatory lease agreement programs and ridiculous pay seemingly controlled only by them. Sure, I over simplified but I'm keeping it sweet. I can flow if you need me to fellas.
Anyway after six years now I think in I've hauled (big trucks) vehicles, flatbed, pneumatic then Bam I Give the Ag rush a brush and hauled reefers/vans delivering plants for a huge nationwide nursery that owns a huge one near me and delivers only to Walmart and Home Depot. First job I took after selling much equipment. Not a bad jig if you were willing to break up our racks and be able to fit 120 on the truck vs just 24 you made about an extra 2 to 300 a day. Really just spring work but as a Company driver 3 out of 22 or so could clear $10,000 a month (best)4 months. you'll grab another 20 or 30 throughout the rest of the year when apparently you don't work much. Spring gave me all I needed to roll into this. Cruise is down now!
Do I make 300k a year, nope!
Am I self-employed? Yup
Am I using my equipment? Yup
Am I home almost every night!!! ChaChing! Indeed I am!!
That's what is so amazing about this industry literally millions of different personalities thousands of different types jobs #### sure any type of weather you need millions of pounds of cargo rolling daily. Yet when he opens the door to walk in to shipping and receiving there is no telling what he or she might look like. I'm the nerd in class I bet! Darnit!!!Last edited: Jan 13, 2015
Montgomery Thanks this. -
The one driver who managed to stop safely without hitting anything should get a raise
The super trucker who is too good to slow down should have his license (CDL or otherwise) suspended for 10 years, assuming he didn't maim or kill anyone. -
First things first, this was a MAJOR accident. Before we all start pointing fingers at other drivers, companies, morons texting and driving and/or four wheelers you should just think about the people.
People are far more valuable than cars, trucks, cargo or your egos' petty reputations.
Ok, yeah sure someone might get fired over this... Who cares.
Pray for the families of the people who were hurt or killed.Montgomery, Giggles the Original, Dinomite and 2 others Thank this.
