Good idea. Have a break and try USX, if that's your only other option, they're not too bad.
Stand up for yourself when it comes to the trainer - if you believe he is unsafe, or just too plain nasty, then request another.
There's loads of good info on here on how to handle situations, and research . . . lots of research.
Trucking aint for sissies, but everybody has a line in the sand. Draw yours, and go forth. Good luck bud.

My neighbor left Western Express because he injured his knee and thought flatbed was too much for him in his 50s.... he quit and they were calling him that week with all kinds of other options... so dont give up. Sounds like you have a couple options....
Or find something else.... no shame in that.... -
My wife and I did 2 years at US Xpress. Loved it there. Don't know if they'll hire you if you have a criminal background.
What are your past mistakes ? -
I work for maverick and have been very happy with them. They do not want you to lie on your logs or about anything else. They try to protect their reputation more than any other company i've seen. Also, if you're experienced and in flatbed, i think you start off at or around $0.48/mile. I haul glass so i only have a general idea what the flatbedders get.

I tried to get on mavericks glass account but they told me due to my record and being unable to prove my data entry job they wouldn't hire me .they said if I can get one year of verifiable income they would love to have me .
I did just get a email from us xpress saying "we still want you!" ,which is either a strange coincidence or someone is reading this and knows me . -
Just because you had some bad experiences, I guess you did get bored after all. Instead of being a man, and pulling up your pants, and tightening up your belt, you put your tail between your legs. Instead of going to the company and asking for a new trainer, you gave up.
This is quite good actually, one less cry baby out there. And you didn't want to drive in the snow? Did you at least MAKE AN ATTEMPT?
Good-byeeeeramblingman, dog-c, A21CAV and 2 others Thank this. -
Nothing runs a DOT bear off his creeper faster than a piss hose hanging out of the floor.

Would such a thing be illegal though?. -
Or you could just not behave like that.
