I don't think you fully understand what a fuel surcharge really is. It's going to vary by customer and company. When making a freight contract with a customer, fsc is just one more number added in asking with detention agreements, tonu, tarping, deductions for missing appointments, etc etc. It's not as simple as one across the board number. It will vary by each individual freight contract. In fact there is absolutely zero rules or regulations that even state there has to be a fsc at all.

 

Thanks for that info... I mistakingly thought the DOE set it @ the beginning of every week. And then I thought it was @ the shippers discretion to pass it along. Learn something new everyday!!

 

Understood good luck @ Mercer it's the best company for O/O they paid for my new clutch up front and and I got new tires all back in November (awesome) who else does that but I got to move on not Mercer fault I made poor business decisions and I'm working at a lost for the past 2 years no real profits good luck. You make money since you all like to live in the truck I don't .

 

Sir the FSC is no different here than any other company sir you thinking to hard about it it's all a numbers game what you see on the load board is what you get no need for the guessing.
