so, supposed to snow like heck here today (denver) so ran hard hard hard all the way to get home yesterday, "14 hours" exactly. 625 miles, 700 pieces (hand delivery), 4 stops.

and here it is 1pm and still the roads are just wet.

    ugh.

still better to sleep at home.

I'd rather run hard with nothing happening than taking my time only to swing iron around my tires. I would have done the same thing as you had I been in your position.

turns out to just be early
went to dinner about 2pm, roads were just wet (although it's been snowing since last night really), got out of dinner at 3pm, snowing like hell, solid sheet of ice, 1" on the road. It's blechola now, glad I"m not out in it.

checked the DOT sites, I70 closed, I80 closed, yuck yuck yuck.

Too right. Ready for the spring to hit. Start going hiking, bbqs, and brewing outside. I am done with winter.

This morning ( 0430 ) it was -6 without wind chill. Uncommon for my area. Took 10 minutes for my pickup truck to blow some heat. The Transmission refused to warm up and hit Overdrive on the 15 minute journey to work. :biggrin_2554:
Warmed up to about 18 degrees on the way home and the transmission was fine lol

Youns other states with the bitter cold can keep this crap weather.

That crap weather you are dealing with is heading our way. They are forecasting two weeks of pure suck. Tired of chaining up. Argh crap, giant snow cloud heading my way as I am typing this. Only 14 min left on my mandatory 30 min break.

    so, interesting route today.
The #2 guy is out this week (death in family i think). I ran his route today.
Starts at 3:54 (where do they get these start times?)
I was effectively done at 12:30
I figure it paid like $330

    for 8 hours?

    Not too shabby.

Had a mention worthy delivery today.

It was a 10 ft folding plastic table that had to go to an office (why a office with fancy furniture needs a plastic table is beyond me). I first walked into the building to figure out where the hell the consignee was located. I ended up walking into a bank where they told me: "Oh, that is on the THIRD floor, you can use the stairs or the elevator". Elevator it was, that stair case seemed way too narrow and strenuous to get this table delivered in a reasonable time.

Out of pure laziness I put the table on a handcart. Oddly enough that handcart; which proved completely impractical for the doors or hallway, came in handy for keeping the automatic doors from shutting as I tried to transfer the freight into the elevator. I spent a good five minutes trying to figure out how this Walmart quality piece of crap would fit inside the 6X6 ft cubical. Out of pure stupidity or laziness I was adamant to NOT use the stairs.

After turning down three people from entering with me, I finally made it fit. It was then that I realized the top of the box went through the clear plastic panel that was affixed to a now in-op light fixture. I forced the box enough to where it was sticking two feet out from the ceiling.

After the delivery, I rode back down in a dimly lit elevator with a strange sense of accomplishment ...despite the fact that this "shortcut" probably made this delivery last twice as long.

And with this, I will leave for those of you still reading this a word of advice: If you are born stubborn and have time, you can make anything fit
