I hate it when that happens!
I tend to be long-worded so I try to submit condensed versions. There are those who, when they see a long post either skim over it or skip it all together. Although I do this just for the typing practice, it's encouraging when someone acknowledges they've read what I wrote. I sure don't.
Although I haven't personally checked out the actual numbers, --- judging by the responses from those who have seen those numbers is convincing enough for me.
RED FLAG
Although the jury is still out on how realistically accurate the scoring system is, I'd be leery just the same.
Although I've never worked for a shady company, I've known those who have; not to mention readin' about their experiences here at TTR, and others, for goin' on 15 years.
I would not be a good fit in a company willing to cut corners too sharply when it comes to safety/maintenance in the interest of higher profits for the company and/or investors.
How "professional" is the driver who would knowingly run faulty equipment?
What would happen if they refuse? Be fired? That'd be more like a favor. Bein' considered a professional comes with responsibilities and is something to protect. That's difficult enough these days without the help of irresponsible Big truck truckin' companies. If "professional" drivers were all, in fact, professional, shady companies wouldn't survive.
I've read the stories of many who have made that complaint. I don't doubt the accuracy of some. Others may be a tad iffy, but not beyond belief.
As for BT, I don't "know" that they won't keep the escrow funds. But that they could, would be of concern. Depending on the circumstances, an escrow fund may not be a deal breaker for me But I well understand the reluctance of those who wouldn't accept those terms.
It's not that I don't agree, it's just that I'm having a problem getting past your use of "always". That encompasses a lotta territory, ...... forever. However, if wrong, I don't doubt there's a lot more right in your claim.
I think we're both on the same page concerning shady companies.
But maybe not clear concerning drivers.
Are we a bad trucking company?

Forgot to mention: Company 2 did have a $500 equipment deposit, taken out in something like $50 weekly increments when first hired. This covered the supplied tire chains, broom, nail bar, pin puller, etc. When I returned the truck with those items intact, I got the $500 back.

OP... are you ready to abandon Beyond yet or can you rise up to meet driver expectation?

Your HOS percentage is at 86% which is 21% above the intervention threshold. That is WAY too high. That means that 86% of companies out there have a better HOS rating than you do. I'd suggest either not dispatching loads so tight that they have to be done illegally, cracking down hard on those who won't run legally if YOU ARE dispatching responsibly, or just go to e-logs.
Personally, when I'm looking to change jobs, I look at the safety ratings. If vehicle maintenance (yours could be better, but isn't horrible) or HOS are high, I'll pass on the carrier. Too many HOS violations tell me the company dispatches and/or forces drivers into cheating on the log book, and vehicle maintenance tells me a company doesn't care about the equipment or the driver.
As for the high unsafe driving score, that can be a hard one to fix as you really don't know how a driver is going to drive until they've been with you awhile. PSP scores and state driving records can guide you, and if they're bad, then pass over that driver for another one, but anyone can be a good boy or girl on a road test, then drive like an idiot once they're out on the road.JJKid Thanks this. -
western europeans I think , except for spaniards, are generally more white. Especially english, irish, and scandinavian. Germanic people can be almost near ginger like, or else they can almost be as dark as some latin people or spaniards.
some of the eastern european have a lot more slavic blood in them. My grandpa was Bohemian, german bohemian, but he had very dark skin for a white man. -
Yes Gunthers Transport in Hanover MD, The owner had already served time in jail for log book violations. He tried to start another company in his sons name and they shut that down too!
