In all the years I drove there were 4 occasions I wish I had a gun.
Once I was parked in a dodgy area and had a few guys circle past a few times and then get out of their car and approach me.
I had an air leak I was trying to find and I could not drive off when I first spotted them.
Luckily by the time they got to the back of the truck I had built enough pressure by revving to max to get moving. The then followed me for a few minuets before passing and gesturing to me running their fingers across their throats.
The other three times related to animals suffering terribly that I would have put out of their misery if I had a gun.
The one was in such a remote area that I just reversed my truck over it to shorten the suffering.
Why cant I have booze or guns in my sleeper berth?

This is all much ado about nothing. If you want a few pops after work; buy 'em and drink 'em. Don't keep the empties or extras in the fridge. Wow that was tough.
Carry a pistol? You really can't find a place to stash one in your bunk???
Apparently the new cause celeb is to come on here and whine about non issues. Jeepers..........do your deal; truck on and just shut the hell up about it and things will be just fine!!!!joseph1135, dog-c, truckon and 2 others Thank this. -
#1 no beer allowed in the truck.
#2 beer is a liquid in a container or bottle marked beer.
#3 beer in a differently marked container or bottle look like either like either apple juice or ginger ale or pineapple juice.
#4 any beer can be changed in color with dye.
#5 any beer can be changed in taste with added flavors.
Note: only you know the difference.
Some glad I do not drink. -
I'm so glad I'm a pepsiholic, no one will ever catch me buzzed, as for weapons its not a federal law, but most companys don't allow them, if your cought its your job, also don't try canada or any military base with a weapon, they get a little testy, been driving many days, and never had the need.
joseph1135 and cnsper Thank this. -
A dry chemical fire extinguisher emptied into a thug jerk's face will immobilize them quickly enough. Wasp spray does a pretty good job at 5 paces. For close-in defense, a size 11 to the crotch will drop 'em. None of the complicating factors of a body with GSW.
-
Coincidentally I usually have a fire extinguisher in my front pocket, and wasp spray... Who doesn't have wasp spray at arms length all the time? A size 11 to the crotch works just fine as long as he's shooting at you with a size 10 shoe.Hcindians5 and dannythetrucker Thank this.
-
If he's already shooting at you a holstered (and concealed) weapon ain't gonna do you a bit of good.
truckon Thanks this. -
Jim Klepper? put out an article couple years back about a client who slid into the ditch on an icy highway. Emergency response checked on him, he was OK, his company said they would hire a tow truck next morning. So truck driver walked across the highway to local pub and had a few beers. Went back to stuck truck and fired it up for heat then went to bed. Around midnight another officer banged on his door to check this trucker's status. Immediately arrested for DUI, keys in ignition, truck running- driver is in control of commerical vehicle even though it is stuck. Bottom line do not have alcohol inside the CMV whether in glass, aluminum or bladder containers.

Shouldn't have had the truck running and keys in the ignition...
Knucklehead Thanks this. -
Shouldn't have had alcohol in the truck.
