Hi there! I have my CDL A permit here on Ohio. I want to get my fully CDL but don't have the money for schooling, and I have been looking into the company's that offer their own but I hear so many bad things about them. I was wondering if you know of any company's, or drivers that would help me with the training I need to get to take my road test. I am a single father of a three year old and really want to pursuit this type of work. Could you help me or point me in the direction of who could. Thank you so much

Try working for pop/soda/beer company. They will start you off as a helper, which help the driver unload the truck. Then keep moving up and the company should help you get ur cdl

First, all companies will have complainers; even the best company in the USA will have complainers "Don't go there" type stories.
Just do what you have to do to get started; we all have different issues so may have different routes we must take to reach the goal.

If money is tight, then attend a school that provides lodging and 3 meals a day. Also you will need an original birth certificate and original Social Security Card that's not laminated.

    Lodging & 3 meals a day provided:

    Earl Henderson Trucking
    Maverick Transportation
    KLLM Transport
    Celadon
    Southern Refrigerated Transport

Dutch Maid in Ohio has their own CDL program; probably more hometime also.

Could you tell how the process works with the Hazmat, and what they check for that might not let me get that enforcement.

You would have to be a terrorist to be denied hazmat or TWIC. The only barrier is you cannot enter Canada with a felony record, but that's no big deal either. Use Google and it breaks down the disqualifiers for hazmat and TWIC.
If you have a criminal record, still submit applications; sometimes companies bend their own hiring rules.

Dutchmaid is a great company, one of my buddys is there from cdl school and loves it. Makes around 1000 a week. Small company, good training time, good equipment, you should enjoy it there

Well I am going with Henderson I will get more details this up coming week, but as of right now I am going to the class on the 30th of March. Is the CDL manual the same for every state.
