You can drive from FL to Hartford and only pay one bridge toll @ NY and not drive more then about 75 or so additional miles. But you'll deal with some hills for the toll savings.
And Hartford to Cincy? No tolls that way either. -
I tell ya........
They have that market so strategically set up to benefit them,And make poor drivers think so much it makes them pull their hair out!
Yeah, If tolls were still 'affordable', Its a no-brainer..
What to do,What to do?
I prefer Less miles and Flat terrain, Paying all tolls up 95 and slow-stopped traffic, As opposed to 75-150 miles out of route and Pulls.
I STILL rack my brain trying to think of ways to outsmart the geographical pieces of garbage that study ways to manipulate the motoring public into the only thing that matters to them..MONEY! -
Agreed. I would not drive up/down the east coast and the upper midwest if the company didn't have (and keep paid up) EZPass for all trucks. And tolls should have been allowed for and built into the agreed upon rate, so I'm taking the easiest, fastest way, tolls or no tolls.

probably about 250 extra, but I bit it's probably only an hour or so shorter due to the S storm from DC to CT...
Me personally don't dodge tolls, so maybe my math & method is a little bit off, if I have to tho I rather stay clear of 95 north of DC.... -
It not that far (300 miles) more like 75 miles if you deviate at DC
-
True, I forgot about catching US17 at Fredericksburg off 95 to 66 and 81 north.

Yeah white dog 2 small tolls--for whole trip--95north--which some here are refering to as the NJTP--but it is NOT--therefore--stay on 95 out of Del--it goes into Pa thru Philly--follow into NJ--take rt 31 n off 95(since 95 ENDS--in Trenton&becomes 295--doesnt start again until the NJTP--runs into 80 and then 80 becomes 95)
31n to I78e--to 287 north--onto 87 s--over Tappan Zee--16.38 overnite toll w/ezpass--follow 287e at 87/287 split--to 95n to 91 n--into hartford---
Return 91 s to 95 s thru NYC--toll toll all the way to jersey--then follow rt 1&9 south from GWB into Newark--make p/u--run out 78--to NJ 24--to 80 west--16.50 toll into Pa--then 80 west--76 west in ohio-71 south to Cinncy--and done...
you could choose to run the short distance down the NJTP to Newark--and also pay that toll but I wont--lol -
I do not think you can get there with out paying!
