Wait.... That trainer guzzled 8 mountain dews, 4 red bulls, and a bunch of stay awake pills.....is he even sleeping? Then again, from what I have seen W.E. Pull, it's no surprise they have idiots for trainers. Sounds right up there with CRST.

IMO the trainer should not be training and he is not earning his money... They should have professional drivers that will set a good example and not teach bad habits.. This new driver has every right to complain if this is in fact his experience... Sure A real trainer is there to give the trainee as much seat time as possible along with guidance. It appears to me this new driver received neitherAnonymousproxy Thanks this.

Hmm pushing his religion you say on what how to illegally drink in the truck or how lot lizards are good for the soul lol this guy sound like a true douche bag

How many students have you trained? Feel free to show us all how its done. In a perfect world there would be excellent trainers for every student and every student would would be attentive and do what they need to do to get trained. This isn't a perfect world and no one wants this job. If you listen to the old timers out there they would tell you how they were tossed the keys and told good luck. Even if the trainer in question was just a warm body its still more that a lot of us got back in the day. The real problem is that in this day and age people are expecting to be catered to. This job doesn't cater to anyone. Either grow up and take some initiative and responsibility or get out. Trucking isn't for crybabies.FerrissWheel, steve9501 and spyder7723 Thank this.

three things in the op are freaking hilarious.
#####ing about western express, which just shows he didn't have the initiative to do any research, or wasn't wise enough to grasp what that research showed him.
#####ing that the trainer ran less miles. A true trainer would not have the hours to ruin a single mile cause they were all burnt up sitting in the jump seat teaching while you drive.
Telling the safety guy that you don't need to listen about safety cause you have a clean license. Of course your license is clean, hell it's probably still warm cause you just got the #### thing. guess what, my 16 year old daughter has a clean record to. And I'd bet a hundred bucks she has backed up more miles than you've driven forward.RedBeardedT, Kev's Sunshine, BigBluePeter and 1 other person Thank this. -
I have not trained anyone to drive over the road but I have however helped 3 people get their cdl so they could help local farmers during harvest.. I #### sure didnt show them any bad habits (they can learn them on their own) have anything illegal in the truck and be unprofessional.. 2 of the 3 could not drive or shift a truck at all. But all passed there test with ease.
I bet that the 3 people that I helped get their cdl would be far less likely to take your hood off when leaving from being parked next to you then drivers this guy has trained. But hey driver if you have no issue with trainers like this not being professional and doing their job the way they should good for you.. Just dont be #####ing when a driver runs into your truck because they were most likely trained by 1 of these morons.. Fact is anybody that does not want to be a good trainer and be professional should not sign up for it..Last edited: May 12, 2015

To the OP, glad you learned a few things along the way and got to see some beautiful places. Keep looking, doing research and eventually find a good fit. I would ask that in the future you use paragraphs in your posts simply because people like me with very small attention spans have a terrible time reading a novel length single paragraph. I really impressed that all the "know it all's" that chimed in busting your ***** for going to Western in the first place didn't cut you down for the long paragraph.
To everyone who is climbing down his throat for making a mistake going to Western, thank god we have people like yourselves who have never made a mistake and are here to tell the rest of us how perfect you are!! You want to make a difference, step the F off your high horse and view a mistake made by another as a teachable moment not an opportunity to show others how perfect you are.
When a person makes a mistake man up and use that opportunity to teach them. If that person continues to make the same mistake then either your not a good teacher or they are not a good student. There are good trainers and bad trainers but there are also good students and bad students. A good trainer can turn a bad student around in most cases. A bad trainer can ruin a good student and coming on here climbing down this guys throat for making a bad decision in a prime example of a bad trainer.mjd4277, superflow, TruckerWife630 and 3 others Thank this. -
Nobody drives forward anymore, everyone backs up just so they can use that phrase. I usually reply "Yea but I've lost more fingers in woodworking accidents than you have"

Maybe but the point is accurate.
