It may not happen every week, but when you have a trailer others don't have, it can be very rewarding. I have yet to load anything that needs my low pro SD I bought, but I know it will pay for itself when I do.

    The week recap.

Last week was a bit of a blur. I waited on my 34 hour restart and left as soon as it was up. Garners installed the starter and replaced the air dryer. Ran 3 loads of frames, finished up on Monday morning and headed back to the house.

The agent called about the storm shelters on the way into KC, I asked him to give me an hour to find out whether or not I was going to have empties on, then called him back and arranged the details.

Dropped the truck off to Garners again. They installed the inverter, the FS2500 filtration system (thanks @Cowpie1) and . . . wait for an edit - gotta go.

Saw about 2 dozen of those frame loads yesterday as I was headed east on 70 across MO yesterday.

Funny thing when I got to East St Louis I looked over to my right at the rails and saw flatcars loaded up with some kind of chassis going east.

did you get a few oil samples before installing the FS2500 ? I would be curious to see tests before and after with mileages. cowpie said he saw soot levels reduced significantly, but I'm not sure how long he ran it without the bypass.

    It's never quite right . . .

This morning I was looking at a load paying 2.10/mile for 45,000 lbs, and thought, Nahh - too heavy for too cheap. Was only going about 360 miles, but in the direction I wanted with the timing I needed. So - I opted for a longer dead head to St. Louis to get one for the morning going 250 miles or so to Louisville - put me right on time for the Sat am apt on the frames. Cool.

All sorted. Off to deliver the shelters. When I'm done - I see the same load - different agency code - 53 foot NEEDED - now $4.35/mile. I think Betsy could have handled the added weight for that rate. I rang the guy in the afternoon after it kept being re-posted and gave him my details, told him the story of the rate change, told him to keep me in mind.

I could have rang the St Louis load back and cancelled on him, just felt obliged to make good on my word - may need him again anyhow.
