Pulling a hill under the speed limit and NOT having your 4 ways on is just begging to get plowed in the hiney.

Seems like most in here say use them on hills strange so many of the old timers at my company said not unless your just crawling. 25 or less these guys drive serious freight and have for 30 + years. Things that make you go hmm

I agree with the 25mph......25 less than the posted speed! Are they Emergency flashers or Hazard flashers? At 25 less than the posted speed I would definitely be a hazard.

Actually, I use 1/2 of posted speed. Somewhere around that point I use blinker fluid.

20 mph under the posted limit in some states constitutes a road hazard.

like ms elvee said, "look at me".

like the lites on when raining, can u see me??

I don't mind a guy using flashers when you first approach a traffic jam. But I can't stand when they leave them on the whole time, we are all going 5 miles an hour you don't need them. Mostly because as traffic is moving and lanes speed up and slow down it looks like you have your turn signal on, if someone is right on your tail I can only see the lights in the one side blinking. Then you get people stopping to let you over, then they realize you don't want over and floor it making more trouble.

I use mine when I'm slow going up a hill, or when traffic is stopping.

But, I never could understand some people's idea of using their 4 ways in a snowstorm at 40 mph, while everyone else is going 30. And one of my biggest pet peeves is those who are lost on a two lane road, with their flashers on, driving VERY slowly, then suddenly hitting the brakes and turning without canceling 4 ways and using a turn signal

I call'em my "Doin something stupid over here, pay attention!" lights. And even that doesn't work sometimes.

When you're the guy that's lost, you'll understand better. The 4 ways simply alert other road users to the fact they are lost and confused, searching for something - and may turn unexpectedly.

I'll generally try to help those drivers - with mapping or local knowledge or a phone or CB, because it's frustrating.
