At orientation. Watching videos until UA and hair follicle time. I wonder if they can squeeze in a massage.

Yeah my DM is trying to get me 3 days of layover, as I tried to p/u my load Sunday, product wasn't ready, told to come back Tue. at 1300, so I sent an email to the broker on Mon. well she thought I no longer wanted the load so she took me off of it, but didn't tell me, so Tue I show up to pick up the load, and it was given to another carrier, but at the time I was clueless as to what had happened, so I call the broker and she explained what she did, and apologized for not calling me.
Working on a load going to Indy, then on to Ft. Worth TX.Roknric Thanks this. -
Well, I went ahead and took the plunge and scheduled my orientation for the 22nd. Really wishing I could get a inventory list from a few of qc locations and start getting figures and selection together. I did ask the recruiter to email me a copy of contract so I can look it over and all that good stuff. In case I don't get it, is there someone that's already on board that could possibly email me a copy to review?
LSBroker Thanks this. -
From my perspective as a broker I need confirmation of that rate confirmation ASAP in many cases. I also need to dispatch the driver myself. Its' my freight and my customer that I need to ensure is happy. So whether I use one of my own drivers or an outside carrier I still need to ensure the freight is on time and if there is a problem I can notify the customer. You're right all the DM needs to do is enter it. The rest can be taken care of from the broker and the driver. I understand why the DM might need to input the load (credit worthiness of the Company in which they got the load from (if they are over their limit or simply have late pays). I don't know how the Eagle system works and if your system automatically tells you when the customer is over their limit or late on payments. Mine does, and I can't process that load until payment is made or they bring their account under the credit limit in order to process it. Sometimes I can get their credit line increased. That said, the quicker they are notified by the DM the better. If the driver could input the info into a system and the driver be notified by the system it might be quicker. But with any Company growing pains are difficult. I'm a broker for a very mature Company and we have difficulties with our systems all the time. About three weeks ago it was down for an entire day. The next three days it took 1/2 an hour to enter a load. I was about to pull my hair out. The amount of revenue lost in those days...well, I would like to know the number. So whether your new or old, we all have hiccups. There is always room for improvement. And yes, all Companies have the bad apples sitting around. What some of us seem to forget, if it weren't for the drivers we wouldn't have a job.Westenntrucker, fr8monkey, Loke and 2 others Thank this. -

I have not seen anyone have to redo their app, but it probably wouldn't hurt to bring the info.
There is a class that started Monday, one yesterday, and my class started today. The folks ahead of us were looking at trucks, and I believe some have already signed for theirs.
Day one was filled by the drug screen, watching orientation videos, lunch, and a couple of presentations on business. I walked over to the Qualityco lot. They have several new Lone Stars. One of the briefers advised that the Pete's they get in will go to the flat-bedders, and the box/reefer drivers will get the new Lone Stars. One guy in the class is going to Denver to pick up a 2016 Freightliner...so there are other trucks available. I saw one KW W900, and its rigged for flatbed. I'm going to do some research tonight then hope I have a few choices once I read and re-read the lease.
Westenntrucker and JTT Thank this. -
As far as the trucks go,It would be nice to have more options, but I'm good with the Lone star ,just want to make a decent living, not keeping whatever truck anyway!! -
Be careful of any trucking company that uses "logistics" in their name LOL
