I'm acknowledging it and surprised by it.
Still not enough enough, OTR should be paid at least the same as those linehaul LTL companies.. they all pays .50s to low .60s and line 4 time
Pay skyrocketing? Prime pays noobs .43 & Landair trucking pays .49 on regional! WTF?

I dont know about skyrocketing. But its a dam good sign its time to buy a truck and get authority. You just know if companies like swift are raising their pay that theyre most desperate. Lots of the freight they cant handle will going to the spot market.

FICA stand for ''#### I Can't Afford __________''...at least that's what Larry Reeb a.k.a. Uncle Larry says it means.

I believe that Prime is cruise governed at 62mph. I am where I work and hate it when traveling up and down hills. I also have to follow their fuel and routing directions. It can really slow you down. -
i dont need extra off time in the TS so .48 x 2000 miles be no good to me
.42 x 3500 is music to my ears
but I am a lil different even my mother says sotruckthatpassesyouby, CaptainDaveG, Panhandle flash and 2 others Thank this. -
I worked for LANDAIR TRANSPORT out of Greenville TN, about 5 years ago. They are known by the locals as the Greeneville mafia for good reason. If they are paying drivers with only 6 months of experience 49 cpm they must be desperate for drivers. Don't you wonder why with that pay they are can't attract more experienced drivers to work for them? Figure it out for yourself.

Only reason 0.42 x 3500 miles is better is because it pays $510 more. If however you take that 2000 miles at 0.48 and compare it with the number of miles you would have to run at 0.42 to earn the same paycheck, then 0.48 becomes the only intelligent way to go between the two.

Only way .48 and 2000 is better is if you can get it done and be home for 2-3 days a week. Out 7 days a week give me the milesCranky Yankee and Dinomite Thank this.

Companies are paying more cause they cant find drivers!Older drivers had enough of the bs going on in this industry and younger guys want nothing to do with trucking.Everybody is looking for drivers I have big companies email me all the time and i tell them when i can make at least 1500 per week home for 2 days a week, drive a kw or pete,no elogs or governed under 75 and no cameras in truck then ill think about it.
CaptainDaveG and 19kM-1Driver Thank this. -
My point is if your check is gonna be the same either way but you still choose to run more miles at a lower CPM instead of running fewer miles at a higher CPM, you're not the brightest bulb in the chandelier. More work without more pay goes against all common sense.
IF, however, you're going to get the miles you need to make more money than the guy who has a higher CPM, then and only then is it the intelligent option between the two.
