This is about what i do when I am being punished with trip to the cities. Blow right through them grabbing gears to get up to speed ( if I have the room to).

I'm with the idle along in low range crowd - less clutching/stopping/starting. I practice my Zen-like patience skills in the meantime . . . for about 45 minutes, then throw a temper tantrum complete with fists beating on steering wheel and screaming, by which time we're usually out of the jam.

I came through the same mess early afternoon yesterday. Heard the cb start hollering about an 8-10 mile backup about 40 miles before I got there. I jumped off and drove around it the way everyone said to go and I'm pretty sure it would've been faster to just sit through it.

The surprising part was that I was in a line of 8 trucks driving around it. I had no idea that many guys listened to the radio before they're in a backup.

Did you go through Lafayette? The there is a bypass around Lafayette on the west side...fairly new...easier than going through all those lights.

I went around. I got off at exit 193 and ran over to 231 but with that many trucks and just a stop sign it took 20 minutes to make the turn. Then there's still a few lights on the bypass and I managed to get every single one red.

The problem with a CB is not that the back up isn't noted it's the driver's saying it's the right lane when it's really the left..

    Thank you driver's !

I hope you're not one of those who "relies" on the CB. If you rely on the CB, and drive like all is Ok because the radio is quite, you're in for many rude awakenings. I place VERY LITTLE reliance on the CB anymore. The info is either not provided, is out-dated, or completely wrong, or BS
