A friend of mines husband worked in a warehouse... and just before Christmas was loasding a truck and the driver took off just as he was backing out on his forklif after dropping a pallet.... he was very very badly and is permanently disabled... it has been hard for them and especially his son.. they were very close.. would work on their cars and motorcycles together, go camping and finishing... but, now that he is in a wheelchair that has all stopped...

He goes in for his 4th surgery in a few weeks because the metal plate in his head is not taking..

so.. there are good reason for added safety measures...

the reason the driver gave for taking off... he was sleeping and someone knocked on his door... he got up and dressed and took off to go to the front to get the paper work....

My trailer gets that glad hand lock twice a week. Truck drivers pulling off the dock with the forklift driver inside has happened many more times than you think. #Safety

Was unloading a machine off my lowboy inside the Calvert Cliffs Nuclear plant in southern Md onetime.Had to have a guard at armslength to me at all times, security reasons. When I moved the truck,he was in the passenger seat, and whenever I stopped,I had to turn the engine off and hand him the keys. They were taking there sweet time unloading me,and the guard wanted me to go outside with him,in the freezing cold so he could smoke a cigarette,as he couldn't leave me alone.I don't smoke,so I told the guard to tell them to unload me,then I can go and he can go smoke all the cigarettes he wants.Got one those, you sob looks....

Soooo, how did you classify the Fork truck operator as, "live load", or unsecured freight? lol

Talking about unloading, I back into a dock (sysco) and started taking empty pallets off, straps, etc etc, the yard dog hop in the truck and drove off! I just stare at the receiver guy and he started yelling at the radio
