Sorry for the poor picture quality. My phone is old and worn out.

Just wanted to tell people that CARB is out and about at Wheeler Ridge today. They nailed a guy by me for not having a CARB compliant engine. $300. They are doing inspections at the TA and the Petro. A blue pick up, and a white mini van.

    double yellow Thanks this.

Thanks for the picture and info and now here's where I'm going to tell everyone why they should not comply with CARB..I've been spending a lot of time in Southern Cal over the past year and a half and I always make note of the trucks I see whether they are or are not in compliance. I would have to say that around 70% of trucks I see are not in compliance, I.E. old trucks, no DEf no side skirts on 53' trailers etc. etc. Certainly I could be missing something but from my understanding almost all the exemptions have expired. Here's the real shocker; I would say that about 60% of Cal. registered trucks that I see are not in compliance. So why comply? I know CARB is a joke to begin with but if 60% of trucks registered in your state are not in compliance why should anyone else comply? Yes there have been some big fines, I've read about them, but why not play the odds? More nonsense from the land of fruits and nuts.

How is this permitted by Ta and Petro? These jerks are on private property. Maybe that's a question for TA and Petro.

Don't go to CA, problem solved. Let their produce rot in the fields, after a few times of this, the people will get fed up with it and disband CARB.

In spirit I agree with you but it won't happen my friend as I'm sure you know. There will always be some @#%@#%#$ willing to run produce for .95 cents a mile and go broke doing it. He won't be CARB compliant and will probably drive a 1994 multi-colored Freightshaker that can't even pass a DOT inspection. He'll be out of business within a year but in the meantime will continue to bring rates down until the next @$#@$% takes his spot....And the cycle continues.

I hope carb never really gets it cranked up to the point all the older trucks without soot cookers are kicked out. I have one of these old trucks and I make good money with it. I don't want to see a glut of trucks everywhere I'm operating ... And I dont want to buy a new truck that may not run as well as this one. I wish they'd go about it in a different way ... I'd be surprised if a large % of new trucks did not have emissions systems in working order ... The problem will correct itself over time.

Those trucks run all over the US, not just CA. And if they want to run for $.95 a mile, it's not my fault they're stupid. And if you want to buy a new truck that spends 30% of the time in the shop fixing emissions controls, that are a fire hazard, that were put on because of the findings of a person with a FAKE PhD, that's all on you too.

Did they leave their blue pickup and white minivan running while writing tickets? I would slap them with tickets.

OOIDA has CARB tied up in the courts right now, evidently a complaint by OOIDA was set aside by the courts because no one was ever cited by CARB. Well now some people have been cited and the courts are going to hear about how CARB thinks they have authority to overide the Commerce Clause which is all about free trade between states.

What would be ultimate justice is if the courts decided CARB has only power over California based owners-- you'd see a mass exodus and the only way California would get their goods was from dirty trucks bringing it in from outside lol.

Yes. They did have their engines running while they were out of their vehicles issuing the citation.
