Do you have a dash cam?

A basic dash cam doesn't need a whole lot. The throwaway phone I have for a spare has a decent camera on it and it's a $40 phone. All a dash cam needs is the ability to record, store and playback.

 

i've already been thinking about seeing if there was a wireless backup camera so i could change it from trailer to trailer. Thanks for sharing that cruisingalong.

 

I've had the el cheap 4sight dashcam about 3 years now. Records everthing in 3 minute loops to a SD card. If an event happens, I just pull the card so it won't be overwritten then pop in a new blank card. Later pop the card into my laptop and watch the video with the event then highlight the video file and click Save As into a folder on the harddrive. Later upload it to youtube and share on the Video forum over here for people to criticize lol.

 

Yes I always had a dash cam with body mic, started out VHS now when you pull to your local HQ it's automatically uploaded. It saved me a ton with idiots that complained just because they were stop or given a ticket. Funny thing was once I was accused I always watched the tape the same time as the accuser and the looks were priceless.

 

It records about 20 3 minute files on the SD card then goes back and re-writes over file #1 for 3 minutes then re-writes file #2 for 3 minutes and so on for the next 20 files. This happens all day long. If something happens you can reach over and click 'save' but I just eject the card and put in a new blank SD card to make sure the file is save for sure.

 

I only have the 10 but love it all the same, lol. You have a cascadia. Right? Where do you mount yours?

A dash cam is cheap insurance and I honestly recommend everyone to have one, not even in just a semi truck but in your personal vehicle as well.
