There are plenty of young people in the industry. You haven't seen the ' I've been driving 6 months, only hit 1 thing and have never driven in winter but I deserve top pay and brand-new equipment with all the bells and whistles." threads?Last edited: Aug 10, 2015
Canned Spam, icsheeple, Rick Brown and 3 others Thank this. -
Many OTR jobs will treat you better than that. Here the reasons to go OTR
1) quickest way to get good pay
2) see the country - really it's pretty cool to get a good look at America
3) usually more pleasant than regional and definitely more pleasant than local. Your time in the cities is minimal, you will have a lot less stops and waits at shippers and recievers and you will get in a lot more of that recruiting-poster-purple-mountains-majesty kind of driving.
Those points aren't nothing. That is why so many of us with plenty of experience and good records still do it.Rick Brown, fastlanedanny and NavigatorWife Thank this. -
if you are OTR, what are the chances that you will be home weekly, with some companies, this 1 day off for every week is about as standard as they come. oh sure, some companies may get you by the house during the week, but that isn't all the companies either.
if one chooses to go OTR, this is the way it is, don't like it.>?? do not complain, just do not go OTR...
you are not even a driver yet...am i correct..??
did you think that the school you're going to is going to tell you the whole truth and nothing but the truth regarding OTR, or just sugar-coat it for you..???Big Don Thanks this. -
no young people want to give up the free lifestyle living in mommy's basement and having her change the sheets, and doing his laundry
please refrain from taking my sarcasm as one you think you have the lock onto...ok..???
I DO have a pair of sneakers, i use them mostly in the garden and when i wash my cars. i bought them from a catalog company, (long before the internet was around) many many years ago, i figure about 45 years...??. the soles are worn and the sole and toe are nearly separated, but they serve a purpose. they make me feel all tingly and fuzzy inside, when i am washing my cars and the cold water gets in......ooooh...ahhh......ohhhhhh.............that's sooooo goood......Last edited: Aug 10, 2015
Mr.X Thanks this. -
A monkey can do the job, lil skills required, its the lifestyle they can't get a monkey to agree to, that's where you come in!mrdot, Rick Brown, NavigatorWife and 2 others Thank this.

well considering a money drinks his own pee and spits it back at you, or picks up his dung and throws it at you, i am sure the lifestyle will closely match that of the ordinary sloven trucker....
in fact dare i say, a trucker see's that and does the same..??
you know as in, "monkey see. monkey do"...???Rick Brown, Mr.X and walstib Thank this. -
I don't know, here lately it's been taking some serious driving skills to avoid running over these insane 4 wheelers that keep cutting me off, lol. Just saying...
walstib Thanks this. -
maybe what we need is a version of this, only larger...to get "around them'...????
NavigatorWife, MidWest_MacDaddy and jungledrums Thank this. -
Not only that, they believe that "nobody wants to WORK anymore." Horse crap.
Dunno, ARE YOU????
I always thought you were:
Well, I'm sure I have some that are more worn out than you are, and probably smell worse than you do!
Oh horse crap. It is only that way, if YOU ALLOW it to be that way.
Lately? Shoot, idiots have been around ever since man has. . .
