Is grain hauling good money year round, or does it slow down part of the year?

Been making what will be about 30K year . Not good in my opinion. Then I find an add for Holmes here in Wichita , 60K a year for the same job . Just have to go with the right company I suppose . Know O/O that goes home most nights and makes 2500 week and does not haul ddg. Made 5K when he ran regional. Also have talked to many drivers that have jobs paying the same as mine .
Not sure what months are slower as only been doing it 6 months but so far nothing slow . Just grain prices down until august . Do not know how long they stay up but I know they have been down as long as I have been doing it up till this month.

I have been doing this hopper bottom thing since January. April and early May were a little slow. It all has to do with who you do business with and what bulk you're willing to load your trailer with. Most loads come out ok, it's just the DDG especially that sucks to

Grain hauling gets slow from January - August, with some spurts in between here and there for the winter crops.

STAY AWAY FROM FOLTZ TRUCKING!!! Go anywhere but there. If you do, you will be sorry.

You are correct. We hauled wheat flour, sand, salt, fertilizers and many other non-grain loads, while I was at Foltz (a very bad company). The good money is after harvest starts. By January, the loads are carefully measured out the last until spring. In the spring, many loads are the other (cheap paying) loads.
