From what I can gather he initially spoke with some after hours company stooge. All he needs to do is call safety in the morning. Worst case scenario, get the leaks fixed and get to the terminal. With a good enough terminal discount, he might still save money even after fixing the leaks.

Prime is a big enough player to have a national account with the tire manufacturers ... the tires are costing Prime the same no matter where you buy them.

Prime isn't giving you a discount at the terminal ... they're charging a premium if you get them someplace else ... Prime wants the work done where they can get the labor charge revenue.

I dont understand. Pull into a tire shop, buy tires, pay with your credit card. Go on your merry way.
Thats what people who run a business do.

If someone is actually running a real business. they would do that. They would also have saved some down payment money, some operating cash, and gone to a bank to get a loan for a truck.

If the tires are only leaking they can normally be patched or plugged (each time you go in and say I need a patch, they will correct you and say "you need a plug" but the next shop you go to- 'I need a plug', they correct you and say "you need a patch" lol) for $30-$50 bucks.
Reminds me of someone I was married to-- told her to go down and have that one leaky tire patched for $25. Tech told her he would give her a brand new tire for free if she only bought 3 new tires.

Get this the car was only 4 months old.

Just have to protect yourself every day out here, it is like 1849 Gold Rush California and everyone is out to steal you blind-- nothing has changed in 2015

been running those tires down the highway with low air pressure, causing them to overheat and loose chunks... really need to maintain those tires, check the air pressure, and get leaks fixed. Even from your pictures they are legal.
