Trying to not say anything mean. But my miles are way down and am considering other options.
I am struggling for miles. Sat 4 days in the north east. And would have been another day if I wouldn't have taken things into my own hands to get loaded a day early. And then another stop the company didn't have a clue about, and had to call get my appointment changed for my last stop. And will be another day now in SLC before I can get unloaded for my first stop and then a race to get 3 more off ending in Boise.
So in all, I'm not doing that good, but trying to wait and see if it's going to get better. So far I think I get more info and things done by calling places myself and with the kind help of Nichole and Shelly. Otherwise I sit all day and have to call the next day.
Still waiting for things to get better for me. Seems like others here are running though.
Great Plains Transport - A company that cares about drivers... NO BS.

My guess on the combine is you were north of Tremonton. They have to use the highway sometimes to get from one field to the next.

I was wondering about that.

Something needs to be said to Mike, from all of us. I'm going to call him tomorrow, even though my miles are doing ok, I have to be very proactive, if I wasn't proactive, my miles would be less, you have to call and bug them, which we shouldn't have to do. What I do the day before I get empty, I send a text message to dispatch approximately, what time I'll be empty and to start looking. It seems to work, I know where the breakdown in communication is, believe me, I cant say on here,it will be brought up tomorrow. When I first started here it was awesome, I'm going to stick it out a little longer, the tree needs to be shaken up again. I'm not giving up hope quite yet!! It's really simple get loaded, then empty, and repeat again. We're doing our part! I'll update my conversation with Bob and Mike tomorrow. -
Looks like I'm gonna have to call the shop tomorrow, this stupid APU is having the temperature shutdown issue again, but this time in mere warm weather, not just triple digit. Sounds like the sensor must be getting worse, was hoping to get in the yard last time I got near the Minnesota /ND area, they used to get me into the shop at least once a month, now ever since I had the valve procedure 2 months ago, not a peep from the shop about my odo/APU readings, nothing.
I do agree with having the talk with higher ups. With all the staff changes, dispatchers coming in, etc, there has been little to no news coming from the qc, maybe a few things on the Facebook page, but it shouldn't take too much effort to let drivers know of all the change, and who is doing what. The general communication on the transition has been poor to non existent since all this stuff started. While i like being left alone while I'm driving or resting, it helps if I know what is going on instead of being kept in the dark most of the time. It's kind of a big thing with me after what I went through during my previous company's buyout and downfall, and through some personal crap I've gone through the last few years. More information is gooder. -
I agree,

Saw a holland driver this morning at my stop. Waved and said hi and just got ignored. Hmmm maybe he thinks I'm to blame for the company split!
And he's parked right next to me. After he pulled forward 6 times trying to back in. OH WELL.
Company needs to do something quick I'm gonna try the calling in advance Patrick mentioned .
I asked what the deal was with all the sitting and told can't dispatch you until your unloaded. Just asked why can't you preplan. I've never been late p/u or delivering. The response I got was I got another call, I'll call you later. Sorry I got to go, click
WTH? Heard another driver left.
Hope this company doesn't turn into one of those revolving door companies with drivers. I still like the company and people, but it comes down to miles and getting paid for me. -
I don't think it will, though I think that "red" company is trying to steer that way lol. I've ran into a couple of their newer drivers, but got kind of an arrogant "we have TV sets and you don't" attitude, and they kind of ticked me off when they started trash talking about Bob and GPT. (not all of them, the ones one here and a couple I friended on FB have been good towards me ) . As for the "non waving" thing, I see that everywhere these days. I will admit I detected some friction between the two companies before this split up started. I'm still glad I came over to the "blue side", I like a smaller company, and despite some of the craziness and the communication lapses it's still been an improvement over my last company.

Gave the shop a call, they think it might be the mother board, looks like I'll be spending the day at the carrier place after I get this trailer unloaded tomorrow. Was asked if I wanted to get it done right there in Amarillo where I called from, but I decided for something like a mother board it would require a lot more time than I had. Better I get empty first and not have to worry about missing my delivery. I hate winding up late, and for something like the APU, there's ways I can cope with that 'till I get the chance to have it worked on.

Well, got back to my truck and found a preplan picking up a load at same time as my delivery appt. tried to call in but now found out they changed office hours. All this after I informed dispatch my situation with the truck. I haven't had an on time pick up in the last two weeks because they don't even consider what I told them about my hours, when I'm delivering my existing load, and how far it is to the next shipper. Heading north next, I'm going to ask to be routed to the terminal so I can talk with some people about this, this is getting irritating.
