The hardest thing in car hauling is finding a wallet big enough to carry all the money you get from customers until you give it to:

2.fuel companies
3.insurance er extortion companies
4.truck and trailer malfunction engineers like volvo and Cottrell
5.pirates disguised as DOT officers
6.ex wives
7.pirates disguised as honest car dealers, auctions, or rental agencies
8. Chiropractors
9. Mental health therapists
10. Road service aka highway robbers

Dealing with bad weather, I find the winter to suck the worst. Dealing with know it all sales people and dealerships that don't have transporter unload areas.

I turn 40 in March. In car hauler years that is apparently 80. I'm on the verge of buying a truck and pulling containers. My drop and hook days are hear.

I have come to dislike car salesman even more if that's possible..
Funny how once they learn I'm there to load or unload vehicles and they won't be making any money off me they have no use for me..
My boss man feels the same way, "you're probably making double what most of them are 'F them" -
Yup, salesman suck. I've found it best to go straight to the top. For the most part mangers are on their game.

I didn't start hauling cars until I was almost 40... I was always very careful about how I pulled on the bar, and I never jumped off the truck. Even though my shoulder is now rebuilt for other reasons (it wasn't carhauling that trashed it,) I don't feel any worse for wear.
I've always tried to drive it into the guys I worked with, and those I trained, no straight-arming the bar, and don't freaking jump. Most just blow you off, and do all the stupid stuff that tears up joints. Most are a decade younger that I in years, and a decade older in wear and tear. Life's already too short, why make yourself an old man any sooner than necessary?BigBob410, Pullin2 and PuritanProwess Thank this.
