Out of these two reefer companies, which one is the better choice? I was gonna go with Wel but you need to be 23. I figured go with one of these companies and get my year experience, by then i'll be 23 and then I can try Wel.

Why do you want to do reefer?

TranScam is a noobie company and they don't pay for experience and simply want cheap drivers and flease drivers.

1 year experience is .32 vs .48 between the two companies. Not much thought there.

I figured with reefer, there will always be available freight, seeing as people need to eat and such. Maybe im fooling myself thinking that way though...

Well Shaffer is under the same company as Crete which is dry van.
So you could start in dry van and if there's somehow no freight then you could switch to reefer.

Big difference in lifestyle doing reefer vs dry van.

Without a doubt, Shaffer. Although I think Crete, the dry van sister company, is slightly better than Shaffer.

    Longarm Thanks this.

It's all under the same roof.
When I worked at Shaffer I pull a few dry van loads and got paid at my reefer rate.
I simply did reefer because I wanted to experience to try something different because I already did dry van... nope never again lol.

I hear that. I started my first reefer gig a month ago, and I'm tired of it already lol... I like the company, but reefer customers suck something fierce!!!!

Does Trans Am even have company drivers any more, I thought they are all lease purchase. Not sure about that. But I have heard a lot of good things about Crete/Shaffer.

Go with one that isn't installing cameras in the trucks. Make some phone calls.

If you're in the hiring area, try Earl Henderson Trucking and J&R Schugel; both reefer companies.
