My dad and I have a truck thats running dry van loads in and out of California right now under our own authority. I am looking at getting into intermodal as my dad would like to get more home time.I am wondering if there are companies here in WA that do business with Owner operators with there own authority? If any one has any leads or any important information before getting into intermodal I would sure appreciate the help.
(PS. This is my first post so if I screwed something up let me know.)

Well, you can try jb hunt or schneider, those 2 are the biggest one when doing intermodal. If not hang near the railyard and see othet companies leaving the yard.

Does J.B Hunt or Schneider require you to lease your truck to them? The problem is we have our own authority. I tried to go through streamline (Union Pacific) but they want at least 15 trucks...

California Multimodal out of Fife, WA.
You would have no issues with your own authority. I currently haul cans from Tacoma (sometimes Seattle) to Centralia 2-3 times a day. Home every night, decent money. -
Ok, thats fantastic. Thanks for clearing that up for me.

I would like more info on CMI if you would be so inclined to pm me.
