Speaking of two lane etiquette. Came up on a Swift here on 54 who apparently thought that was the speed limit. When I finally passed him, saw it wasn't some rookie, it was an owner operator. Smh.

He may have been a former Prime driver and turned the top speed down because he didn't trust himself. :)

You win the internetz today!!! You're exactly right. I run US 95 a lot, a lot of it is 65-70 except for Oregon where they don't believe in progress. I come up on quite a bit of slow trucks some are cool, the others can go pound sand.

I posted the source, just not the link. That's from the Illinois Compiled Statutes (625 ILCS 5/11-606). Other states likely have similar laws in place, too...but you can look those up yourself if you really want to know.

Oregon just raised its speed limits on a lot of their rural interstates and 2-lane highways. hwy. 97,95, will be raised to 60 mph. I-84 east of the Dalles will be raised to 65. Wont take effect until march of 2016.(read it in an article in overdrive magazine)

Contrary to what has been posted on Illinois, there is no minimum speed limit on a two lane highway.

They run farm vehicles on them and other types of vehicles.

    As posted before:
    (625 ILCS 5/11-606) (from Ch. 95 1/2, par. 11-606)
Sec. 11-606. Minimum speed regulation. (a) No person shall drive a motor vehicle at such a slow speed as to impede or block the normal and reasonable movement of traffic except when reduced speed is necessary for safe operation of his vehicle or in compliance with law.

Now note, EXCEPT WHEN REDUCED SPEED IS NECESSARY FOR SAFE OPERATION OR IN COMPLIANCE WITH LAW.

The driver is responsible for safe operation and in no way will they ever write a ticket for 45 miles an hour on a two lane.

Then look at the next part. Normal and Reasonable.

People need to drive their own vehicle and act like a professional.

I can't believe it but it's true! That's going to make the trip to Seattle from Salt Lake a bit less sleep inducing.

Now if we could just get California to play ball too....

Remember this is the state that mandates skirts on 53 foot trailer which scientists have proven only gain the benefit of fuel economy at speeds above 61 miles per hour lol. So therefore and ergo you have California staying true to form in regulating things which have no relevance within the state.

I sense a lot of aggression in the ranks. Y'all need a vacation.

Too much work and no play make Billy one PO'ed MF'er.

If I'm taking my time and keeping my fuel consumption low it's my biz. Leave me alone. It has nothing to do with you. I have time under my thumb.

If you, on the other hand are in a hurry, time has made you it's bee-otch. Take breath, count to ten and get a grip on your situation. Seriously.
