I've deleted several posts in this thread for recruiting efforts by a driver from another company. This thread is about Great Plains Transport, so let's get back to discussing that, please.

Looks like I'm picking up later tonite, swapping out somewhere out there, then getting back home for the weekend. Preparing for night driving mode(aka stealth mode:evil5::evil5:)....(starts arranging "goth metal" playlist...)

Well, don't deliver till tonight and pick up the next morning going up to Washington. But told them to change my appointment for 1 day earlier.

And FYI, I just talked to the man and he said we can park at the ta/petro in Ontario (or any pay 4 parking at ta/petro); and they would rather we get 50 gallons instead of paying the $20 fee for reimbursement. Which is fine by me. Free shower and parking. Will b the First time I've parked at a fee based parking. I try to avoid them.

And on the trucks, I would rather wait for an automatic so I can get the fuel bonus! :) Unless none are going to b autos. checked my mpg avg and I've had a few real light loads and still only at 7.24 avg.

Funny, there's a pack of dogs here at the Barstow love's and they won't even eat the dog food drivers try to give them. Only real food. The birds are eating the dog food.

Are you sure they're real dogs and not drivers in disguise?

Not sure, but the dogs looked cleaner than some of the drivers coming through.

So I have been approved, and am set to go to orientation the 9th of November. Hoping this company really is as good as its been talked about. I look forward to it, but am also sad to leave my previous place. They are good people, and treated me right, just not made much, and no benefits at all.

It's a good company, basically if you have any questions or concerns don't be afraid to ask or bring it to Bob or Mike's attention. I've been here since April, and they've been good with me so far. Like any company it has it's ups and downs, miscommunications, etc but it's enough for me to stay.
