Thats a setting on the TKs. I took mine to the TK and told them what I wanted and they fixed it right up for me.

You just need to push that reset button. The KW's are nightmares electric-wise and I know our Thermoking APUS had lot's of issues. They started replacing them about the time I moved on.

Rehitting the mode button doesn't fix what I want it to do. I would like to be able to leave my house in my car, drive to work, hop in my nice "warm" rig. But that's not the case because the darn unit does not work properly.

I know the other trucks work fine. I watched the jocky park one that he had at the dock. As soon as he shut it off, moments later the apu started.

You want your apu running the whole time your truck is parked while you are at home? Seems pretty wasteful.

Unless he doesnt have the TK diesel-fired heat unit the APU won't run very often anyway. The only time it should start is to bring the voltage up on the batteries from heat unit fan and whatever other accessories draining them down. Set at 65 degrees mine will start maybe once every 4hrs or so and run 5-10 minutes. But mine is also setup to run as a block heater so it runs frequently on cold nights regardless.

    chris887 Thanks this.

Well the truck I drive was scheduled for grease so I stuck a note out over the odometer so the mechanic would fix my APU issue. Came to work after my 34 hr reset to make my run and the apu was running and the cab was warm. NICE! Went in rear and checked settings just to make sure it was set like I was setting it ( just in case I had a wrong button set) everything was the same. Started my rig and left it idle while I did the pretrip inspection. Shut the truck off and turned on the key to do air brake test. Went in rear just to check heater settings and the unit never went back to heat. Oh well, truck was warm at least one day, problem isn't repaired yet.

My APU in my Truck works the same way as yours. Yes u have to hit the mode button for heat or AC each time after u run the truck. Its working properly as its programmed. Don't about the Dock Jockey though. If he hits anything is it your DAC that gets hit or the Jockey?
