Starting with my new carrier here in Maine and they had a spokesperson from legal shield come in and talk to us. While some of it sounds enticing and could possibly come in handy down the road, is it worth the $XX.XX a week? I've never even heard of it before, and have never needed it or anything like it, but I would like to get some opinions and information from those who have it or have had it. Thanks.

Never heard of legal shield either. But don't pay for monthly services. You could end up with a ticket in a court that isn't serviced by them.
Looking at their websight, however, if it's the right one. They don't even specialize in traffic tickets. But they specialize in most everything else. -
Skip it.
Put $XX.XX into a savings account every week and if you should ever need legal counsel pay it out of that account. You'll probably come out money ahead and you'll have your pick of attorney instead of hoping legal shield assigns a lawyer to your case that's worth a ####.Another Canadian driver, blairandgretchen and 207nomad Thank this. -
Kev signed up for it, its expensive. I think we pay $50 a month. Not sure we'll ever use it.

No. Yet another drip-feed get rich slow scheme for attorneys.
If you drive the posted speed limits - especially in work zones and small towns where kids are running about - you need not worry about getting a ticket.
Every ticket I've gotten, I thouroughly deserved, and used the legal system to reduce or beat it - then adjusted my behavior accordingly.Another Canadian driver, C & C, truckon and 2 others Thank this. -
Not worth it unless you plan on breaking the law. Do what blairandgretchen and Longarm and others have said.

Used to, it might have helped. But with the way the current CSA rules read, it's a waste. The CSA points will still hit.

I've been driving for 12.5 years now and I've gotten 1 (one) parking ticket. How many attorneys could I have hired with my $7500? I really don't mean to be condescending here Sunshine but, you're shooting yourself in the foot with buck shot.Another Canadian driver Thanks this. -
Legal company like that is helpful if you ever have a speeding ticket, even in your own car. Fees are a lot lower than the lawyer fee that can start at $500 or more without the legal aid. There are lawyers who belong to a network who they call on to represent a person in a case. You might want to shop around and see if there are cheaper companies out there though.
