Since I switched over, I been staying overnight at customers more than truck stops. Compare to van, I would had never even consider sleeping at a customer's property or side street. But made sense with flatbed and well my paycheck.

Right now I'm sitting on a muddy side streets somewhere in canada....it's quiet, peaceful, my chain and bungees already put away, just gotta pull the tarp off tomorrow. But somehow I still kinda preferred truck stop... maybe I'm just still in the transition stage

    What do you guys prefer?

Sometimes the customer would bang on my door 2 or 3 hours before my appointment, faster the better.

I came to a customer at 2 am and the receiver said first come first serve and since there was another truck here sleeping before u, he's first. Goes bang on his door at 2 am lol. Walk to me and just wave me to go in the bay

I park at the customer if there is somewhere near by to get a beverage and a bite to eat. Love it when that comes together.

Any time I could park there I parked at the customer's location. I wanted to get some gone and the sooner the better. ;)

Sometimes, the closest truckstop or even the closest town can be100 miles away.
You cant afford to be truckstop happy.

This is a tough call I make on a per case basis! But more and more I like just crashing out at the customer....gets me out earlier when they show up and see me and say come on in. And saves me money from crap food.

Either way is boring as heck though!

    Customer whenever possible

We have parking and access to facilities at almost all of our outside customers / backhauls so it's a no brainier to get there whenever possible bad start the next day with s fresh clock.

There are other advantages as well. Since I parked at my Backhaul customer last night bought myself enough time today to get home tonight with 15 minutes left instead of sometime tomorrow morning if I'd stayed at the truckstop.

Only for live unloads at unknown customers, otherwise no point
