Mods should move this, also, what's your company names and is it 1099 or w2?
Dominick253 and chopper103in Thank this. -
Sounds like what I'm looking for.
I'm really tired so i'm just going to list the questions.
What's the name of the company?
How big is the company?
Do you pay 1099 or w2?
Do you provide benefits?
Will I be able to see the pay breakdown and how much the company gets pay for the load?
Whats the percentage?
Paper or elogs?
What kind of trucks?
What speed are they governed?
What part of Chicago do you park the trucks?Dominick253 Thanks this. -
Percentage out of the rails is a horrible deal for drivers... Way to much waiting around... Hourly is the only way to go

It's the only experience I have with intermodal and I wasnt exactly trained. I was just handed the keys to the truck and told to download an app with which I would dispatched.
Turnout out great to be honest. Boss doesnt micro manage and the equipment is solid. The only problem is getting the dispatch at jb hunt to get me a load for the day. I honestly almost have to beg which is making me a little angry. You'd think with all the freight they have it would be them begging me to move it. Jb hunt also uses the shortest route to calculate mileage pay which is off by 10-20 percent of the actual miles I drive.
I just applied to Fore transportation in Harvey. Do you have any on them?
They pay w2 and by the hour plus ot but the fact that they have a safety department is making me reconsider.4noReason Thanks this. -

I just quit at Fore in July - Absolute crap equipment, plus I was being worked to the bone by dispatch, but then disciplined by safety. the two departments communicated through me.
I applied at Central States and Mark-It.. both offered pretty much the same. Went with Central States and have been at it for awhile now. Initially I was on the fence.. but once I proved to my dispatcher that I got things done they started treating me right. Basically all the hours I want (legally) plus time and a half after 40. Plus the 2016 freightliner I'm in doesn't hurt things
There are other companys like Mark-It, Pacella, Bear cartage that offer very similar packages as where I'm at... but beware of Fore.kee1227, Dominick253 and 4noReason Thank this. -
would agree with what most people are saying, you should be looking for hourly if you're setting tires in the rail yards. any one who has spent even a few months doing the job can tell you how common delays are. Hell even celedon is paying hourly for rail work in Chicago. Whole #### industry should be making the switch if they want to stay competitive.
