My Red Wings have done a bang up job for the last year, but they aren't so hot when I'm working on a sloping aluminum ramp that's been sitting in a -5 degree reefer. (In fact, they're more like roller skates.) Anybody have a suggestion on a safety toe work boot that's slip resistant on cold aluminum?
Boots that won't slide on a frozen ramp?

Is there not anything on the ramp to prevent slipping? As someone who has slipped off the top of a tanker from snow and ice, I understand where you're coming from. Ha

The frost sticks to the bottom of the shoes after a few steps. We need some heated soles.

You can buy what people wear in the woods - "corked boots." They're Red Wings with studs built into the soles and heels. The studs are there all the time, though. My wife bought me some clip-on studded oversoles for winter wear. I used them, once, they worked well on ice. She found them at the Kohl's store here in ABQ, Christmas stocking stuffers area.
