There was an article in the paper here around a year ago about one of the local beverage distribution companies putting these cell phone jammers in all of there trucks for safety reasons. Afterwards I looked it up and read where they were illegal. Don't know if they ever did it or not.

Love the lunch counter talk. One guy was saying with the California drought they were gonna implement a new policy for truckers to share showers to save water.
NavigatorWife and Vilhiem Thank this. -
I ain't got no...takes that to a whole other level!

I could see windshields blocking signal to the driver. But not the surrounding vehicles.
I think a lot of it has to do with the structures also. The old houses were built with bricks and cement. Today, it's just plain lumber and siding. I don't know when my aunt's house was built ( early 1980's i think ) but it's all brick on the outside. Don't matter what carrier you have. NO ONE gets a signal on the inside of her place.NavigatorWife and Vilhiem Thank this. -
Once inside, nobody can hear you text?

And I thought that the OP was only stating that the company was blocking driver signals, not the surrounding ones as well? -
I'd have to reread his post. I don't know if he was talking about actual jammers or some type of structure build in the truck that would only block the inside.Vilhiem Thanks this.

Quoted below for ease... He used the phrase, "cell phone interrupter," which would lead me to think that it's being done actively.
It is possible to make it only affect the driver...thing is...and here's what gets me..it costs about 50$ to hand make an interrupter... 35$ if you're stingy.

Ah.... Lunch counter talk, where the indisputable truth is dispensed.....NavigatorWife, Vilhiem and Big Don Thank this.

Those early GM spaceship vans and their late 90's replacements had those solar treated metallic film windshields that blocked RF signals like radar, GPS signals, EZ pass transponder signals, etc.
Some of those heated windshields in luxury cars did the same thing.
I had a car with side window tint that was solar treated and would block RF as well.NavigatorWife and Vilhiem Thank this.
