worst thing about flatbeds

Well since no one else has mentioned it I will.

Tarps.

 

Know what you mean - bunch of stuck up SOB's. Had a bad oil leak last month. This "All High and Mighty - I do MANS work" skateboard puller comes along and gives me 2 gallons of oil to help get me home. Worst thing was he refused the money I tried to pay him.

I got him back though. Went on FB and called him out by name. Bet he'll do that again.

 

That brings back a memory from right here that still piissseess me off to this day. Not what happened here but what led up to it.

Talk about a-hole open-deck drivers, I pulled into the J in Post Falls, ID with an OD load, backed in the far corner and walked to McDonalds for an ice cream cone. I come back out and find my rear OD lights stolen off the load. These were some high dollar ones that I made custom magnetic mounts for. I was going to hit Colorado after dark on my way home and without these lights was going to loose a day because I couldn't travel at night without them. I came on here to rant about it and without knowing me from Adam people like @Rontonio and @haulhand started jumping to get lights to me in Wyoming so I wouldn't have to stop. I wound up digging through my junk box and putting together lights that would pass but the nerve of these guys trying to keep me rolling...............

 

So there @TripleSix I came up with a negative, fellow open deck drivers that will keep you rolling instead of letting you have a day of rest!

 

Tarping sucks ###! I haul conestoga now, so much better.

 

I bought one too! Nice...

 

Yeah, those heavy haulers are the absolute worst. Bunch of slave drivers. Always taking up more than 1 parking spot. Hate those guys. To piss them off, when they pull into the parking lot, I jump out of the truck and help guide them in. They will be fuming by the time they set their air brakes.

 

Any downside to the conestoga other than the cost ?
