If I wasn't worried about fuel costs trust me I'd still be in my 379 but 4.5mpg just wasn't cutting it for me anymore

The same reason buy here pay here lots stay in business. They are counting on a guy just taking what they can get. And unfortunately most of them do.
Earlybird here is a perfect example, he has no job if he doesn't take whatever truck they give him. And very little cash reserves. so his choices are go home and find a job asap, or take what they give him.
Early, for the last several weeks you have been on here asking others what you should do, when you should have been doing the homework and asking yourself what you should do. I don't think any one that has been successful owning or leasing a truck could honestly say you are ready to be a truck owner. Going in to this unprepared is almost certainly going to cause things to end poorly for you. You really should consider going back to your previous employer for now, and try this again in a year when you are better prepared.Last edited: Jan 12, 2016

Are you Mercer guys staying busy? And are your rates hanging in there? Please specify if your flat, step, or van.
Seams like they have been bringing a lot of people on. -
Need some help here guys. I think the problem is my air compressor like some have been saying here with coolant in oil. Last couple day's its been about 19 degree and i had to fight with my trailer brakes frozen as it sat for 34 hours while it rained(My fault for setting lol). While the truck builds up the air it screams like a baby pig(Think its air bags maybe???) Is this normal on older trucks? I did notice i have some oily clear stuff on my intake lines for the air compressor So i think its the air compressor cylinder head.. How much does an Air compressor cost?

Rates are down right now, and it's slow. But that's just the market. Every trucking company is slow right now. they've been doing a lit if hiring the entire time I've been here. And I dont believe it's affected over all rates one bit. Our over all truck numbers have only gone up about ten percent since I started four years ago.Heavy Handed Thanks this.

Mine was about two fifty if I remember right. New from fleet pride. Are you draining your tanks daily? Quick test to see how well the compressor is doing: bleed the air down, pull the steel braided line going off the compressor. stay the truck, put your hand over the fitting and feel how much air is pushing it and if any coolant or oil gets misted on to your hand.earlybird1104 Thanks this.
