First I have no idea if this is a thing. Don't know if companies are all here's the job offer take it or leave it or as a rookie is there some room to negotiate on certain things with companies?
If there is what should be at the top of the negotiating list?
From what I gather it seems companies need drivers way more than drivers need jobs. So that would appear to give a new driver a bit of leverage since tons of companies apparently need drivers.
Rookie contract negotiations?

All you have to bring to the table is MVR and CDL and maybe endorsements.
Ask for extras and your application will be rejected for "Your application is denied; we have found a more qualified applicant" or "Your application is denied; we have hired another applicant that better fits into our company culture."Thull, NewTrucker7, stevez57305 and 4 others Thank this. -
There's no ROOKIE demands, Get some time in and then the balls in your court

There are more jobs for experienced drivers than there are experienced drivers. There is an overflow of rookie drivers, for every opening several rookies apply, if you reject the terms there is a line of people who will accept them. As a rookie all you can do us find the company that will give the best offer.slim shady Thanks this.

What may help is to have TWIC, hazmat, passport card. At least this gives you more options as to companies to choose from.
