JB Weld was my first thought - Thanks!
A lot less hassle than the alternatives.

My KW's in the past would get pinholes in them behind the straps, or rocks would sit between the saddles and tank and rub holes in the tank, I always used JB Weld to fix them. It has never leaked from there either. Just clean the area you want to apply to really good with brake parts cleaner. I always used the fast set one too, to impatient to wait for the other stuff to cure.

On the bright side maybe you're set up to score a good load today because of conditions.

I knew that sleeper was big but I didn't think it had that much room that you could fit a fireplace!

    :D

Back around 1980 my brother got a gig hauling yachts. I either drove pilot car or took a turn at the wheel. One load was an 80' yacht from Galveston to LA and the owner drove with us to babysit his "dinghy" (he had a much larger yacht).

We hired some locals in a small town in west Texas to walk street lights over the top, then parked for the night. The owner asked if there was a bar in town. "No, this is a dry county".

    "Not anymore!"

He invited the crew up to take advantage of his wet bar. Much appreciated. I'm just sorry the hot tub wasn't hooked up to a water supply. Would have been nice to get Maybelle in there.

Catching up on the thread and read the bit about batteries...

Battery warranties can be a funny thing. I know at the location where I work, when we load test a battery that's under warranty we are required to use a digital load tester which spits out a pass/fail printout. The "letter of the warranty law" is that if there is print out which says the battery "passed" (doesn't matter if it barely passed, and anyone who really has an interest in not being a shady dweeb knows that the battery is on its last legs..) well, sorry-- No replacement under warranty. One step in this process is inputting battery serial number into the tester...

I don't 100% trust that battery tester and I'll double check its readings with a hammer-reliable carbon pile load tester. Been plenty of times where the fancy whizz bang tester has said "PASS" and the other load tester tells a much different story.

Know what I do in that situation because I prefer that the customer experiences the satisfaction of their truck staring like it should on a cold winter's day?

I'll take that stupid printy-sheet load tester over to our pile of trash batteries, input the serial number for the battery-in-question and TA-DA! A print out which shows a failed load test. Battery gets replaced under warranty. Customer gets what they need, and I don't have to feel like a jerk because I sent a guy out the shop door with a "good" battery which is about to give up its ghost. Some warranty procedures are just absolute garbage slanted towards making sure the people issuing the warranty have to honor it as little as possible.

I could go on a whole other rant about how aggravating warranty paperwork can be...
