You might look at it from another view. Pick a company you want to work for and ask them to recommend a school they hire from regularly.
aussiejosh, finbyrd, Chinatown and 1 other person Thank this. -
Also check your state Department of licensing or DMV.... There are a lot of schools out there they will not accept to issue your CDL.
good luck!Toomanybikes Thanks this. -
There is no schooling required to get a CDL.. What do you mean the DMV wont accept?SingingWolf and ajohnson Thank this.

In WA they required the certificate from the school.

Some companies are picky.
For example; Superior-Carriers only hires from certain schools. If you want to work there, call and ask which school they hire from in your area.finbyrd Thanks this. -
I will definitely do that monday. I was thinking I could call the school I went to but calling the company itself is a better idea. I could also get an idea if they're hiring at the moment too.roadmap65 Thanks this.

I looked it up and you are correct for WA. .
As far as i knew There were no federal standards in place that REQUIRED any kind of training to get a CDL..Last edited: Jan 22, 2016

SingingWolf, roadmap65 and TBonze Thank this. -
There aren't FEDERAL standards, that's a state standard. Every state has its own standard. Most do not require schooling, like you thought.
